Cloud workspace
A cloud workspace means your desktop, applications and files no longer live on one particular computer but centrally. Your people sign in from the office, from home, from a building site or on the road and see the same thing everywhere.
When a cloud workspace pays off
Not every business needs to move to the cloud. It mainly pays off when you have people across multiple locations, when your server estate is due for replacement, or when you run industry software everyone needs to use at once. If you have ten workplaces on one site and a server that runs fine, we will simply say so.
What we set up
- Azure Virtual Desktop for a full cloud workspace, also suitable for heavy or older applications.
- RemoteApp when only a specific application needs to be available remotely.
- Microsoft 365 and SharePoint for documents, collaboration and version control.
- Hybrid setups, keeping part on site because that is faster or cheaper.
Security and backup are part of it
A cloud workspace moves your data; it does not protect it by itself. We switch on multi-factor authentication, define which devices may sign in, and set up a backup that is separate from the environment itself.
Also when the connection drops
The obvious question: what if the internet goes down? For businesses working fully in the cloud we recommend a second connection as standard, for example 4G failover on the firewall. The network then switches over automatically and people keep working.
